In today's fast-paced world, the importance of a healthy lifestyle has become increasingly significant. Proper dietary practices play a crucial role in maintaining good health, and it is essential to spread awareness about them, especially among school-going female students. In view of this scenario, an outreach program for spreading awareness on the importance of proper dietary practices among the school-going female students was conducted at Baranagar Mayapith Nari Siksha Ashrom, Baranagar (School) on 16.09.2022. This report outlines an outreach program aimed at educating and promoting healthy dietary habits among female students.
The program began with an introduction to the importance of a healthy diet and its role in maintaining good health. The session was interactive, and students were encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences related to dietary habits.
The second session was focused on the nutritional requirements of the body and how to meet them through diet. The session covered all the information on the special nutrient requirements for adolescent girls and their specific role in maintaining proper health.
The third session focused on the negative impact of unhealthy eating habits and how to avoid them. The session covered topics such as junk food, sugary drinks, and processed foods and their impact on health. Students will be encouraged to share their experiences with unhealthy eating habits and learn how to make healthier choices.
The fourth session focused on promoting healthy dietary practices. The session covered topics such as meal planning, portion control, and healthy snacking. Students will be encouraged to share their ideas for healthy meals and snacks and learn how to make them a part of their daily routine.
The program concluded with a summary of the key takeaways from the sessions. Students were encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences related to dietary habits and how they plan to implement the learnings in their daily lives.
