Swami Vivekananda University is proud to announce the launch of its Centre for Performing Arts, under the inspiring leadership of Shri Prabir Guha, a renowned theatre personality and founder of the famous Sahajiya Theatre Movement. The Centre is a vibrant space dedicated to nurturing creativity, cultural expression, and artistic excellence.
Shri Prabir Guha brings decades of experience in innovative theatre practices to the University. As the Director of the Centre for Performing Arts, he has designed a unique certificate program on Sahajiya Theatre, blending traditional techniques with modern sensibilities. Students currently pursuing the course are not only learning the rich philosophy of Sahajiya Theatre but are also being exposed to a variety of other performing arts forms including music, dance, and movement arts.
At the Centre, you won't just learn — you'll perform, create, and live the spirit of the arts. From staging plays at grand festivals like the Binodini Theatre Festival to celebrating world events like World Theatre Day, our students experience the real-world thrill of the performing arts industry.
