Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in English

Doctoral work here is built around the scholar, and the scholar is given what the work needs. A large library with deep holdings in literature and the humanities. An online repository of e-resources and full access to major journals, so a reference is never more than a search away. Seminars, conferences and workshops run through the year, where scholars present their work and meet the leading academics in their fields. The approach is interdisciplinary throughout, so a thesis can draw on history, film, philosophy or the digital humanities as freely as on literature.
